Hi, I am on the road today but yes, it is definitely included with MBX v4.5. I am almost 100% sure it is accessed in the FILE tab on the top tool bar. Click that & Crosstitch should be one of the options on the drop down menu. It is not with the icons on the side of the MBX screen. Either let me know you found it or I will confirm this evening when I have had a chance to open up the software to double check. And yes, you do have cross stitch fill with the freehand tool but you also do have the whole cross stitch package too in this version of the software. You don’t say where you purchased the upgrade to your software: your Janome dealer should be able to answer his question as well for you.

There is sometimes a bit of a delay in getting a reply as it is a very busy helpline which looks after the whole of North America. Please be patient. It is also almost Christmas which might cause further delays.

But if you have not heard back by the New Year, contact me again with ALL the pertinent details & I will contact them on your behalf. It may be that upgrading to MBX v4. It might be something real simple to correct. But provided you have all the correct things in place like computer requirements, correct installation etc, MBX version 4 should work. It is a purchasable upgrade, not a free update to download. You would need to order the v4.5 upgrade from your dealer. If I remember correctly, you purchased the Mc15000? Liz Janome Canada. Hi Linda, I am surprized that you say the Mc15000 shows up on his Easy Design page?? The Mc15000 was not around when Trevor made the DVD that comes with MBX version 4.

So I am puzzled by that. However, to answer you: the hoops for the Mc15000 are NOT on MBX version 4.

Yes, only the Mc12000 hoops show up. However, there is an upgrade to the MBX software which became available very recently. This upgrade is from version 4 to version 4.5.

Once installed, this upgrade will then show the Mc15000 in the software. I published a blog post about this very thing today 19th Dec. You may ask Toews to give you retail pricing on this and to order it for you. I did want to point out that (currently) the hoops for the Mc15000 are actually the same as the hoops for the Mc12000 so you can ust select the Mc12000 and applicable hoop while using your Mc15000. If later optional Mc15000 only hoops were to become available (? No clue just saying), then my answer might be a little different. Hope this answers your query.

What’s New In Janome Digitizer MBX v5? Janome’s new Digitizer MBX boasts a brand new interface, clean and easy to use, that will ultimately make your custom embroidery projects come to life! If you are wanting to upgrade to V5 from an earlier version that used the dongle, you insert the dongle when asked to with the installation of V5, but.be aware that the V5 software will burn the dongle so it can no longer be used. If you don't want your dongle to be burnt, then you would have to purchase the full version of V5.

I know this because this is what I did. I ended up buying the FULL version and sold my earlier version with the dongle, and put that money towards the full version. The V5 version allocates you 3 installation codes instead of the dongle. B.gottier -- I have searched everywhere to try to acquire this Janome Upgrade to Digitizer MBX Version 5.0 from MBX/MB/Pro product. I was only able to find it from a company in the UK (and the price was reasonable) - but they do not ship to the US. I live in Las Vegas and your company is in California. Do you have this product available for purchase?

Janome has always been the best at keeping their embroidery software usable and up to date with new versions of the Windows operating system. While some sewing machine companies don’t offer the updates, we at think that this is yet another reason to make Janome your choice for both your next embroidery machine and embroidery software. I had never tried to install Janome MBX on a Windows 8 computer, but apparently it must not have worked, or did so poorly. Janome says, “Windows 8 users need to install a Windows 8 compatible dongle driver before installation of Janome Digitizer V4 software”. Sue, I think you should go to your local dealer. Bring your computer, and have them troubleshoot the problem with Janome over the phone.

I've been working with computers long enough to remember the days when things didn't just actually work instantly, and it seems you may have a similar issue. Since the new Windows 8 driver specifically works with Windows 8, and you are having problems with this O/S, there's probably just something simple that needs to be done, unless your computer itself has problems, and then you would have to clear those up first.

Unfortunately, there are too many factors involved, and too many possibilities in regards to things that may be wrong. Even a new computer may not meet the system requirements for your software, so that's a good place to start. Keep in mind that the system requirements on the box are just bare minimums. If you're sure your computer meets the system requirements, then you have to consider the overall health of the computer.

Computers that malfunction can have operating system problems, problems with software conflicts, malware, hardware failing, etc, etc, etc. It's extremely difficult to diagnose and solve computer problems in the blog comment section of a website, so I recommend going to see your local Janome dealer. Perhaps they can help you.
