Resident Evil 4 Pc Control Module
Late last week, we provided a link to. The new site contains first screenshots (thumbnail sized, unfortunately) along with details on what's new for the Wii version. While we'd already translated most of the information in our first look the game earlier in the week, some readers noticed a cool little control chart at the site showcasing how the game has been adapted for the Wiimote. The only problem is that the chart is in Japanese! Since we're sure you want to see how the control scheme works for yourself, we've put together a quick translation of the chart right here.
The game was later ported onto the PlayStation 2 in October 2005, and for the PC and Wii in June 2007. Resident Evil 4's game mechanics have been completely redesigned to incorporate fast-paced gunplay, quick controls and shootouts involving massive crowds of enemies in large open areas.
Click the below image enlarge. The tiny screens at the site's suggest that the Wiimote may lend itself well to some areas of the game. In addition to swinging the Wiimote around to automatically target the nearest enemy with a knife (the 'search knife'), the Wiimote looks like it will be used heavily during quick timer action events. One scene requires that you cut a rope by swinging the Wiimote.
Another requires that you swing the Wiimote left in order to avoid an incoming zombie attack. And, of course, the Wiimote should lend itself well to the game's shooting mechanics. Aiming is handled by directly pointing at enemies. To reload, you shake the Wiimote, with the internal speaker responding with a reload sound.
The site has an deactivated link labeled 'movie,' so we presume a video trailer will be uploaded in the near future. We'll let you know if we see anything!
Originally posted by:sadly I enjoyed the atmosphere and the dialouge and everything, but uninstalled due to the horrible movement /controls Thank goodness I got it on a bundle, I may try it again sometime when I have patience but this is poor, no idea how they sold this game at all on pc You need to remember the game was designed to play this way, it was designed for game pads (controllers) 10 years or so ago. I agree the controls are♥♥♥♥♥♥by todays standards but 2004 or 2005 games don't have the best controls. Originally posted by:Keep in mind that this game was a universally acclaimed success when it was released, named 'Game of the Year' by many magazines and and it sold like water. That goes to say how much people cared about the controls over the game itself at that time, and how gamers today are so spoiled they can't even handle simple tank control style anymore. Give it another go with an open gamer mind and you'll have one of the best gaming experiences of all time.
I for one am not spoiled by new games, Ive played Gothic 1 all the way the through if you want to see messed up controls. This is just different. Overcome the game and you'll see how great RE4 is. I suggest not trying to use the mouse camera that much for movement. You're supposed to just walk and run in tank controls. Use the mouse just for shooting or if you really want to look something up or down.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Hack Zeus Edition Mame Arcade Rom Star. [QUOTE='napalm_winter']The controls for that game are horrendous. You would be wise to wait for the Ubisoft official version of RE4.
Should be out soon and will support mice. Supafly1 This is the official version of RE4 for PC from Ubisoft.
It was no surprise that it was a horrible port. I am confused. I thought there was a european game called Biohazard 4, which had the crappy controls and was basically a terrible port, and then there is the official Ubisoft RE4 that will be very playable on the PC.
